The Short Version
I have spent the last ten years helping clients navigate some of the hardest moments of their lives. Car accidents, trucking wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, catastrophic injuries – these are the cases where people need someone who will fight for them and actually pick up the phone.
Before I became an attorney, I spent seven years as a paralegal. That experience changed everything about how I practice law. I learned how to support injured clients, manage complex files, and fight insurance companies – from the inside out. By the time I got to law school, I already knew what it looked like when a case was handled well and when it was not.
Many of my clients stay in touch long after their case is over. That matters to me more than anything on a resume.
Background
During law school, I worked in-house with Churchill Downs, Inc. in their legal and compliance department and later with the IRS Small Business/Self-Employed Division. Those experiences gave me an inside look at regulatory compliance, investigations, and how large institutions operate – knowledge I still use every day when I am going up against an insurance company.
What I Do
Personal Injury
This is the heart of my practice. Catastrophic personal injury cases, car accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents – the cases where someone got hurt and the insurance company is already working against them.
I have been fighting insurance companies since my paralegal days. I know their playbook. Kentucky has its own rules – we are a no-fault state with PIP insurance requirements, a comparative negligence system, and statutes of limitation that vary depending on the type of case. I work inside these rules every single day.
Uncontested Divorce
If you and your spouse have already reached an agreement on the terms of your divorce, I can make sure the paperwork is prepared correctly and take care of filing it for you. I typically handle uncontested divorces for a flat fee – the amount varies depending on the complexity of the matter.
If things become contested at any point during the process, we’ll need to talk about moving forward on an hourly basis.
Community and Pro Bono Work
I currently serve as Chair of a Citizen Foster Care Review Board, where community members review foster care cases to make sure children in the system are not falling through the cracks.
I dedicate significant time to pro bono work for both organizations and individuals. I have stayed actively involved with the Kentucky Bar Association since the start of my career, and I am a member of the Kentucky Justice Association.
